Sally's Story
I first started boot camp in December 2005. I had been thinking of beginning an exercise program for a while as I had put on weight and I was unfit, but kept putting it off. I knew I had to do something when I experienced shortness of breath whilst rushing up a small incline at work.

I chose Peninsula Boot Camp after running into an ex patient of mine who had done the boot camp and she looked great. As a chemo nurse who had looked after this lady, I thought "wow if she can get in such good shape after a year of cancer treatment, there's hope for me yet!"
In the first month of Boot Camp I noticed an instant change in not only my body shape and fitness levels but I also felt mentally stronger. Over the past year of boot camp, I have lost over 20 kg, dropped dress sizes, built muscle and changed my way of thinking about exercise. I'm now motivated and actually enjoy going for run.
Peninsula Boot Camp is fun yet challenging. I really like the variety of workouts, different activities and locations. The program is well organised and professional with ongoing support and lifestyle advice from "The Sarge", our Boot Camp leader. Also, something I did not except- I have made some great friends.
Ross' Story
I am 45 years old I hadn't done any form of training for years, through injuries, I decided to take the BOOT CAMP challenge after failing in several attempts to get fit on my own. I found the training very challenging and also very satisfying. I achieved a great fitness level and body strength in such a short time, which was beyond my expectation.

I have lost 10kg. and built muscle mass, feel very energetic and dare I say it, much younger, since PENINSULA BOOT CAMP my wife and I have run a couple of fun runs and looking forward to improving on those results, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Ty, OOOPS!!!!!! I mean the [drop & give me 20}Sarge, in helping to change my health and fitness.
I would highly recommend this program to anyone who would like to improve their fitness, lose weight in an incredibly short time amongst great people in a very encouraging and positive atmosphere. See you there.
Thanks again, regards,Ross Forte.
Graham's Story
I signed up for Peninsula Boot Camp not really knowing what to expect. 10 Boot Camps later, I've lost a total of 19 kg and gained a whole lot more, a big jump in fitness, greatly improved will power, heaps more energy throughout the day, and a great circle of friends.

Some of the real highlights of Peninsula Boot Camp for me are, the great sense of camaraderie from everyone, the fact that people of all levels of fitness can join in, working as a team to achieve great results together, and the terrific locations in and around Mornington that Sarge manages to find hidden away.
Thanks for an excellent program, see you at the next one.

Boot Camp with The Sarge has been an awesome experience. I used to be fit and athletic when I was younger but over time with work and other lifestyle habits I put on a lot of weight. I turned to Peninsula Boot Camp because a few of my mates had done it and told me to come to bring a friend for free day. I started out pretty slow but over the months aimed to get up there with the fit guys, which I did! I have now done over 15 programs with the Sarge and have lost over 30 kilos! I finally found a program that has kept me interested, motivated and challenged. The Sarge knows how to get me working at the optimal levels and has given me back the fitness levels I once had. The friends I have made along the way have just been a bonus! If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Emmas Story
I started Peninsula boot camp in 2004 and am still going strong and loving each season. I had always been a gym goer but had become very complacent with my programs and couldn't quite understand why my fitness level was not improving. I had recently moved to the Peninsula I thought this would be a great way to not only achieve my fitness goals but to meet some people.
After my very first boot camp I felt a sense of achievement, motivated and empowered that I could do sessions that seemed impossible at the very start.
I am still challenged at each session, love the variety of workouts, the locations, the team spirit and the great friends I now have.
Sarge has encouraged me and pushed me along to ensure I am always working hard, not slacking off and getting the results I want. At the end of each boot camp it's great to see your results and your team-mates results and know that your hard work has paid off.
Boot Camp is for anyone and everyone who is willing to give it a go, it's definitely no camp it's more of a lifestyle that becomes incredibly addictive!
Emma's Story
Up unitl forty, my fitness regime consisted of sitting on the couch and watching the tennis, for a more strenuous work out I'd involve lifting a glass of wine to my lips at regular intervals.
It wasn't like I hadn't tried to be fit and sporty, I had joined countless gyms, had a garage full of running machines, exercise bikes and belly-busters (not too mention the free steak knives) I'd been to personal trainers, started jogging and spent many an early morning in my leotard doing Oz-aerobics. I was pathetic at Pilates and didnt get yoga.
But Forty was looming and so was the prospect of tuck-shop lady arms, jelly belly and wobbly knees.
I needed something but had pretty much exhausted all avenues.
So it was with trepidation when I joined my first Peninsula Bootcamp - visions of an angry Sargent yelling abuse at plump, red-faced army cadets sprang to mind.
Well I can honestly say Peninsula Bootcamp is so supportive and absolutely fantastic!
I have been doing boot-camps and boxing programs for the past 2 years and love them! My fitness has improved, I have lost weight, become stronger and made heaps of friends.
The Sarge runs incredibly professional, safe programs that also includes Ciscuit Training which is great. There is definitely no finger pointing or taunting, just lots of fun and lots of sweating.
I definately recommend Peninsula Bootcamp to anyone who is committed to make a change for the better.

Anne's Story
Hi, my name is Anne Gallace, and I am 56 years young. I am now retired after a very busy working career along side my husband in our family business, the Sunny Ridge Strawberry farm.
Over many months, I watched my two adult kids come home from boot-camp each morning, exhausted and exhilarated, bubbling with enthusiasm. I happily listened to their banter, regularly asking questions about the activities they had been involved in. One day they coerced me to attend a take a, friend for free morning. On arriving at Fishies beach at 6am, and looking at the activity proposed for the morning. It was an obstacle course. I wondered what in the world I had got myself into. Encouraged and pampered by the kids, I didn't want to make a jack of myself so I gave it all I had. It was really tough but thoroughly enjoyable. I felt like a kid, albeit an old and an unfit one.
I did that one free session and although I enjoyed it, I still believed I was too old to be involved. Several months later, my daughter and I were discussing my lack of fitness and my weight problem which I was struggling to control of. She said I should really give the boot-camp a proper go, as it might just be what I needed to get the metabolism activated. So, with Sarge's approval I went along with her to the fitness assessment on the first Saturday of January 2008. I was a sorry participant, with low fitness. I could manage only half a push up, about 14 sit ups, a beep test of about 4.1 and the 2 km run took me just under 13 minutes.
When I turned up to start training on Monday morning, I totally surprised my son, who hadn't attended the January fitness assessment. He was in disbelief. Both the kids were in the ALPHA group, which means I was under my own steam in theBRAVO group for most of the morning. They just passed me by on the running track, occasionally giving me pearls of wisdom, comments of encouragement and smiles of pride. I soldiered on. The encouragement and acceptance I got from all of the boot-camp participants was wonderful, but most importantly for me, the leaders were fantastic. Every thing I did, so long as I was giving it my best, was rewarded with praise and encouragement. I was never asked to perform beyond my ability but simply to reach my current potential.

It was very rewarding to have my efforts acknowledged. By the end of the January boot-camp, I had achieved some really impressive results. I had increased my push-ups, I dropped 20 seconds off my 2km run, and achieved serious improvements in the other physical activities. I was delighted. Everyone was delighted for me!!!
I continued working out with Peninsula Boot Camp 3 mornings a week over the ensuing months and soon realized I had lost some serious weight. Over the first 6 months I lost about 8kg. I have maintained my weight now for the past 5 months and am constantly being acknowledged for the success I have had with the program, by participants and non-participants alike.
I love the group of people I train with (and I've done over 10 in a row now). They are now like an extended family. Everyone works at their own level, but the camaraderie and friendship within the group is very motivating. I never feel alone. I know I am being watched by others, they are looking for any opportunity to assist and encourage. Boot Camp has now become a part of my daily routine. The hubby thinks I'm mad, but is also quietly proud of his new lady.

My Kokoda Experience - Deborah McDonell
Port Moresby Hotel - April 20 2009
I get a text from my friend Lou saying - drink plenty of water, 30 year old woman dies on Kokoda Trek!
I had been planning to do Kokoda for nearly two years, but this year was it. Bootcamp was part of my training regime to prepare me as well as the Power Circuit program for strength and walking Arthur's Seat with full pack on a regular basis.

I found the physical part of the trek a challenge but totally doable thanks to all the hard work Ty and Di put into planning the training sessions. I felt physically fit and this helped with the emotional and psychological part of doing the trek. There was only one day when I felt that it was hard work putting one foot in front of the other. I think I was prepared for everything but the humidity and there is no way with living where we do that I think you are properly prepared for that (the humidity that is).

The terrain varied from mud to rocks to navigating over tree roots while either going straight up or straight down. As our lead trekker would say, it is all downhill from here....... except when it is uphill. There were lots of river crossings, due to the fact it was the wet season. The rivers were high and flowing fast. The crossings consisted of log bridges constructed by the porters. I never did fall in, but some of my fellow trekkers managed to dunk themselves and everything they were carrying in the drink.
I trekked with ten other people, nine of them blokes and one other girl. The experience was amazing; the Papuans were friendly and extremely helpful. The country beautiful. The one thing that living on the Peninsula couldn't prepare me for was the humidity. Thanks to all the training, I was well prepared for the physical challenge. True there wasn't a day that passed, that at some point my quads and hamstrings didn't scream at me to stop and some days when emotions overwhelmed, especially spending Anzac day on the Trek, but the excitement and pure joy on getting to Kokoda is something that I will never experience again, unless I return to Kokoda (not likely). Thanks to everyone at Peninsula Boot Camp and my trainers Ty and Di who encouraged me to push myself physically and supported me during my training.
A once in a lifetime experience now done..... I wonder what I'll do next. Deb
My bootcamp experience - Cyrma's Story
A Fantastic Experience. A Fabulous Group of Friends. A Tough Challenging Program. A Whole Lot of Fun.
YOU WILL GET AMAZING RESULTS - THIS REALLY WORKS
It doesn't matter what level of fitness you are. You just need to get up and give this a go! I wasn't ever one of those
'athletic sporty types' at school. I had never sprinted a full lap of a footy oval in my life and I had never done any
proper training before. Just so you know,
- I love chocolate and red wine.
- I also love being outdoors.
- I also love a challenge and I was determined to meet new people and try something different.
- Something with a whole lot of variety so I didn't get bored.
- Something that made me physically stronger & gave me more confidence.
- I wanted to find a successful, achievable way to get fit and stay fit and with PENINSULA BOOTCAMP I found it.
The trainers, Ty and Di, are a well qualified, balanced, professional team (you've got the wrong idea if you have
images of a 'commando' yelling insults at you) Thanks to them I am faster, stronger and fitter than I ever could have
imagined and the encouragement you get from fellow bootcampers is incredible.
It's been hard work but has been worth every step. I'm thrilled with the results and I absolutely love it. And yes my
body shape has changed heaps too!
My first Bootcamp enlistment was in November 2008. Since starting I've dropped over a minute off my 2km run,
increased my stamina on the hour long run to over 13km and have knocked over 4 minutes off 8km city fun runs. In
April 2009 I won the overall womens triathlon which was a 600m ocean swim, 20km bike ride & 4km run.
But for me my greatest achievement so far was definitely when I ran the Great Train Race, 13.1km hill run from
Belgrave to Emerald. Its a long tough race where the aim is to bet Puffing Billy. Its a race full of serious runners,
many have been running for years, and then there was me... To answer your question... YES I beat the train... it really
was amazing.
I absolutely recommend PENINSULA BOOTCAMP to anyone who is seriously committed to improving their lifestyle
and who has tried to get fit or lose weight before and failed and who wants to train with a supportive group of people
who are just like you or me. One major reason for the success of the program is the focus on teamwork and group
support. That's why so many bootcampers keep coming back... its become a healthy active lifestyle choice.
So if you're willing and dedicated enough to give this a go, the trainers and other bootcampers will get the absolute
best out of you. They know how to train you. They know how to challenge and support you. They know how to get
the results you want. You will find it tough. You will be challenged. You will meet fantastic people. You will make
some great friendships. You will have a whole lot of fun, and if you give each session your very best, you will see
incredible results. You will become stronger, faster, more motivated and more energetic. If you didn't know it already,
you will learn that you really can achieve anything you put your mind, and your body, too.
See you at Bootcamp !!!

Thank you for the great day you gave our son on his 9th birthday. We all agreed it was the best party ever; the boy's most favoured comment was - "awesome". It was a pleasure to see this group of kids going hard at it and enjoying every minute of it. You have a unique product and we would recommend anyone wanting a birthday celebration with a bit of punch to let you take charge, SARGE! Well done! Our sincere thanks for a fantastic day. Greg and Sarah Sharman.

Kunyung Primary School would like to take this opportunity to thank-you for conducting 'The Boot Camp' during our recent 2007 Twilight Carnival. The carnival was a great success, and a wonderful evening for all the families who attended.
We have received many positive comments from both kids and parents, on your professional organisation and your ability in dealing with differing age groups and large numbers of children.
Your hard work really paid off and most importantly the kids had fun they really enjoyed themselves.
We will certainly be looking to book you for future events, and I feel sure you will have some repeat business through parties etc.
Many thanks again for all your hard work,
Yours sincerely, Joanne Church

"Our session was great fun. The early start was soon forgotten with a few push ups and jogging with "bertha". The team had a great time with mix of fitness work and fun team building activities. War stories are still being told weeks after and bragging rights over the tug of war will go on for a long time. Professional and motivating - thanks guys for a great time" Elisa Perry ANZ Markets.
